Slovakia is one of the youngest national football teams in the world, having been broken off of the Czechoslovakia national team with the dissolution of the united state in 1993 (with the birth of the Czech Republic.) The team has only qualified for two major tournaments – the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the Euro 2016. Slovakia actually advanced to the knockout round of the Euro 2016, but fell to Germany in the Round of 16. That was the same fate that befell England, as they were upset by Iceland.

Leading into this match, the biggest question facing manager Sam Allardyce was “Who’s on the squad?” Ultimately, he was able to whittle down all the talent in Britain to a 23-man lineup, per The FA. Strikers Harry Kane, Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy will lead the charge, with the midfield filled with the likes of Danny Drinkwater, Raheem Sterling, Wayne Rooney and Eric Dier. Fraser Forster of Southampton, Joe Hart of Man City and Burnley’s Tom Heaton will be in goal.

Facing the Three Lions will be a team made up of international superstars, per The FA. Slovakia’s squad includes Liverpool’s Martin Skrtel, AC Milan’s Jurak Kucka, Jakub Sylvestr of FC Nuremburg, Marek Mamsik from Napoli and more.

It should be a great game. HollywoodLifers – who do you think is going to walk away with a win? Are you supporting Slovakia or are you rooting for England?
