Adam Richard Sandler (born September 9, 1966) is an American actor, comedian, singer, screenwriter, producer, and musician. Known for his comedic roles, Sandler has been a prominent figure in Hollywood for decades, earning numerous accolades and a dedicated fan base.
Early Life
Adam Sandler was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Judy (née Levine), a nursery school teacher, and Stanley Sandler, an electrical engineer. He grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire, and attended Manchester Central High School. Sandler later graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 1988.
Career
Sandler began his career as a stand-up comedian and gained national attention as a cast member on Saturday Night Live (SNL) from 1990 to 1995. His success on SNL led to a thriving film career, starting with roles in comedies such as Billy Madison (1995), Happy Gilmore (1996), and The Waterboy (1998).
Sandler’s filmography includes a mix of comedic and dramatic roles. Some of his notable films include Big Daddy (1999), Punch-Drunk Love (2002), 50 First Dates (2004), The Longest Yard (2005), Click (2006), Grown Ups (2010), and Uncut Gems (2019).
