Early Life and Career

Channing Tatum was born on April 26, 1980, in Cullman, Alabama. He is of Irish, French, and German descent. His mother, Kay, was an airline worker, and his father, Glenn Tatum, worked in construction. Tatum has a sister named Paige and a half-brother named Christopher Anderson. He was raised in Florida, where he attended Tampa Catholic High School.

Tatum began his career as a model and dancer, appearing in the music video for Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs” in 2000. He made his film debut in Coach Carter (2005) and gained further recognition with his role in Step Up (2006).

Breakthrough and Success
