Cole Mitchell Sprouse (born August 4, 1992) is an American actor and photographer. He is known for his roles alongside his twin brother, Dylan Sprouse, in the film Big Daddy and the television series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and The Suite Life on Deck. From 2017 to 2023, he portrayed Jughead Jones on the television series Riverdale.
Early Life
Cole Sprouse was born in Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy, to American parents Matthew Sprouse and Melanie Wright, who were teaching English in Tuscany at the time. He was born 15 minutes after his twin brother, Dylan. The family moved back to the United States when the twins were four months old, settling in Long Beach, California.
Career
Sprouse began his acting career at a young age, sharing roles with his brother Dylan. Their first major film role was in Big Daddy (1999), where they played the character Julian ‘Frankenstein’ McGrath. The twins also appeared in several television series, including Grace Under Fire and Friends.
Cole and Dylan gained widespread recognition for their roles as Cody and Zack Martin in the Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (2005–2008) and its spin-off The Suite Life on Deck (2008–2011). The success of these shows made them popular figures among young audiences.
In 2017, Cole Sprouse took on the role of Jughead Jones in the CW television series Riverdale, a dark adaptation of the Archie Comics. His performance was well-received, and he continued to play the character until the show’s conclusion in 2023.
In addition to his acting career, Sprouse is an accomplished photographer. He has worked on various photography projects and has been featured in publications such as Vogue and W Magazine.
Personal Life
Sprouse attended New York University, where he studied archaeology and graduated in 2015. He has been involved in several philanthropic efforts and is known for his advocacy work.
