Jeon Jung-kook (born September 1, 1997), known mononymously as Jungkook, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and member of the globally renowned boy band BTS. Early Life and Background

Jungkook was born in Busan, South Korea. He grew up with his parents and an older brother. Jungkook developed an interest in music and dance at a young age. Jungkook joined BTS through Big Hit Entertainment and debuted with the group on June 13, 2013, with the release of their single album “2 Cool 4 Skool.” He serves as the main vocalist, lead dancer, and sub-rapper of the group. BTS quickly rose to international fame, becoming one of the most successful and influential K-pop groups in history. Some of their popular songs include “Dynamite,” “Butter,” “Permission to Dance,” and “Boy With Luv.”

Solo Career

In addition to his work with BTS, Jungkook has pursued solo activities. He has released several solo songs as part of BTS’s discography, including “Begin” (2016), “Euphoria” (2018), and “My Time” (2020). In 2022, Jungkook featured on American singer Charlie Puth’s single “Left and Right,” which peaked at number 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100. He also recorded the soundtrack song “Stay Alive” for the BTS-based webtoon “7Fates: Chakho.”

In 2023, Jungkook released his debut solo single “Seven” featuring Latto, which broke numerous chart and streaming records. The song debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, the Global 200, and the Global Excl. U.S. charts. His follow-up single “3D” featuring Jack Harlow also achieved significant success.

Personal Life

Jungkook is known for his dedication to his craft and his strong work ethic. He is fluent in Korean, Japanese, and English (basic). Jungkook has a close bond with his BTS bandmates and often shares moments from their daily lives with fans. He is also an animal lover and has two dogs named Gureum and Bahm.
