Paul Colm Michael Mescal (born February 2, 1996) is an Irish actor known for his work in television and film. He gained international recognition for his role in the miniseries Normal People and has since starred in several critically acclaimed films.

Paul Mescal was born on February 2, 1996, in Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland. He is the eldest of three children born to Dearbhla, a police officer, and Paul, a schoolteacher and semi-professional actor. Mescal developed an interest in acting during his school years and went on to study at The Lir Academy, Trinity College Dublin’s prestigious drama school.
Career
Mescal began his acting career in theatre, performing in various productions in Dublin. His breakthrough role came in 2020 when he was cast as Connell Waldron in the television adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel Normal People.
