Overview Sofia Carson, born Sofía Daccarett Char on April 10, 1993, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is an American actress, singer, and songwriter. She gained fame for her role as Evie, the daughter of the Evil Queen, in the Disney Channel Original Movie series “Descendants.”
Early Life Sofia Carson was born to Colombian parents, José F. Daccarett and Laura Char Carson. She chose the stage name “Carson” to honor her maternal grandmother, Lauraine Carson. Through her mother, she is related to the Char family, a prominent political family in Colombia.
Career Carson’s career began with a guest appearance on the Disney Channel series “Austin & Ally” in 2014. She rose to prominence with her role as Evie in the “Descendants” film series, which includes “Descendants” (2015), “Descendants 2” (2017), and “Descendants 3” (2019).
In addition to her acting career, Carson is also a talented singer. She released her debut single “Love Is the Name” in 2016, followed by her self-titled debut album “Sofia Carson” in 2022. She has also contributed to the soundtracks of the “Descendants” films and other projects.
