Overview Sadie Elizabeth Sink (born April 16, 2002) is an American actress and model. She gained international recognition for her role as Maxine “Max” Mayfield in the Netflix series “Stranger Things” (2017–present).

Early Life Sadie Sink was born in Brenham, Texas, U.S. She has Irish, English, and German ancestry. Her father is a football coach, and she has three older brothers named Caleb, Spencer, and Mitchell, and a younger sister named Jacey. Inspired by her love for “High School Musical,” Sink began acting at a young age and took theater classes in Houston.

Career Sink’s acting career began in local theater productions. She played the title role in the Broadway revival of “Annie” (2012–2014) and young Elizabeth II in “The Audience” (2015). She made her film debut in the biographical sports drama “Chuck” (2016).

Sink’s breakthrough role came in 2017 when she was cast as Max Mayfield in the Netflix science fiction series “Stranger Things.” Her performance received critical acclaim, particularly in the fourth season. She also appeared in the horror film trilogy “Fear Street” (2021) and starred in Taylor Swift’s short film “All Too Well” (2021).

In 2022, Sink starred alongside Brendan Fraser in Darren Aronofsky’s psychological drama “The Whale,” for which she received a Critics’ Choice Movie Award nomination. She is set to appear in upcoming films such as “Berlin Nobody” (2024) and “O’Dessa” (2024).
